If you’re after something a bit more premium, a Mercedes-Benz or BMW with a driver for the same duration would set you back between $200–$350 USD. Both offer superb comfort and a touch more prestige. Of course, you can go all out with exotic cars like a Ferrari or Lamborghini, but those are in a whole different league, renting for $800–$2,500 USD per day and are more for making a statement than practical touring.
Our driver was truly a lifesaver, especially navigating the notorious traffic in areas like Seminyak and Canggu, which can get stuck for hours. He knew all the shortcuts, ensuring we spent more time enjoying Bali and less time in gridlock. This local knowledge is something you simply can’t put a price on. We learned that peak season demand can significantly increase luxury car rental pricing, so booking ahead is always a good idea. As for tipping, a good service tip in Bali is commonly 50,000–100,000 IDR, which we were happy to provide given the exceptional service and seamless experience he provided throughout our day trip to the stunning Tegallalang Rice Terraces.
